50 YEARS OF PASSION

The aim was to organize an event to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary, bringing together all the people who are part of the Dynastar family. Demonstrating their commitment, around one hundred people attended: including athletes such as Aurélien Ducroz, Julien Lizeroux, Vivian Bruchez, members of various sports clubs from the region, Chamonix guides, customers and, of course, Dynastar employees. Designed in conjunction with our teams and Dan Ferrer, the brand’s photographer, this photo features Dynastar’s traditional mustache logo set against the amazing backdrop of Mont-Blanc, the Sallanches company’s unique working environment.

In the shadow of mont blanc, Dynastar has constructed its history and values to become, 50 years later, an exceptional brand all over the world and the only company of this size now producing skis that are «made in France». decade after decade, dynastar skis have carved out a unique track, fueling inspiration for the future and reflecting a continuous quest to create ever-more innovative and high-quality products.
In was back in 1963 that the brand with the slim «mustache» logo came into being close to the town of Sallanches, born from the inspired union of two manufacturing companies with strong ambitions. The partnership between Starflex skis, produced by Plastiques Synthétiques, and Dynamic resulted in the birth of new high-performance skis called Compound and a new brand - Dynastar - a clever blend of Dynamic and Starflex.
The 1966 World Championships in Portillo gave Dynastar a taste for victory. Marielle Goitschel and Guy Perillat brought the brand its first three World Championship titles and the first three silver medals in its history. In 1968, Marielle Goitschel went on to win gold at the Winter Olympics in Grenoble. Its champions’ successes in the competitive arena acted as a further boost to Dynastar’s motivation. 1974 marked a milestone in the company’s development: ski production at the Sallanches site broke through the 100,000 pair barrier.
To drive its success, Dynastar worked in consultation with its athletes, using their valuable feedback to develop new equipment. At the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville, France, the brand had the highest number of winners, reaching a total tally of three gold, three silver and two bronze medals! 51 years after its creation, Dynastar is one of the world leaders in the ski industry and the brand ranks among the most successful medal winners in history.
From Marielle Goitschel to Edgar Grospiron, from Marc Girardelli to Deborah Compagnoni,From Marielle Goitschel to Edgar Grospiron, from Marc Girardelli to Deborah Compagnoni, from Kjetil-André Aamodt to Massimiliano Blardone, from Lasse Kjus to Jean-Pierre Vidal, from Tommy Moe to Julien Lizeroux, not forgetting Guerlain Chicherit, Candide Thovex and Aurélien Ducroz, all these athletes have helped to raise the brand’s profile all over the world.
In 1966, the Dynastar brand adopted its now famous «peaks» logo, inspired by the emblem of the town of Sallanches and symbolizing the meeting of its rivers, the Frasse and the Sallanches. This «peaks» also represents a V, in reference to the many victories our athletes have brought us over the last 50 years.
