SUCCESSORS ARE HERE!

Team Dynastar counts 10 podiums this season in Europa Cup including two victories, two second places and six third places. The performance of the year is for the British David Ryding who wins Europa Cup Slalom standings. With three podiums, he is ahead of Mattias Hargin and Manuel Feller. He has also participated to Schladming World Championships. He ends 33rd of the first run but didn’t finish the second.

For the ladies, Romane Miradoli realizes a nice season and ends first of the Europa Cup Super Combined standings. She is a polyvalent racer and she grabs six podiums this winter in four different disciplines and wins two bronze medal in downhill and giant slalom in the Junior World Championships.

2013 Ski Cross World Champion,  Jean-Frédéric Chapuis, was at Rossignol factory in order to sign some autographs and sho his gold medal! Last weekend, he also wins his fisrt World Cup in Are. Congratulations to him!

Nicolas and Loris Falquet did a world première skiing in colored snow for their first episode: tri(p)-color
Nicolas explains: " In Winter 2012, during the shooting of our previous movie A Secret Spot, we said that we travelled the world to produce ski movies and in the end ski snow as white as it can be at home... Here came the idea of coloring snow!
15 days of shooting have been necessary to produce this 2 minutes clip. A lot of energy for an amazing result!

Trip to Antarctica for Sam Beaugey and François

D1
22nd of Dec 2012 - Antarctica Queen Maud Land - 1800m elevation -20°C. François and Sam set a Base Camp for one month at the base of 800m granit big wall: The Holtanna

D2
26th of Dec 2012. Recon 20km east of Camp on Kvitkleven Glacier. They must turn back because of a massive crevasses spots.

D3
27th of Dec 2012. Back from this exploration from left to right : Ulvetanna, Kintanna, Holstinnd and Holtanna

D4
The perfect weather allowed them to set 2 new routes on unclimbed peaks and also the 45km tour of the range in 2 days ; they slept overnight at the english base camp. Leo and his team did put a new route on the North-East ridge of Ulvetanna.

D5 and D7
Start of the traverse. 70kg for each pulka, 15days of food, 2 snowkites and 3 tents as backup in case one blow away. A trip of 220km.

D8 and D9
It's 9 pm and the sun will never come down. They were looking for a bivouac spot but a steep ice section on the glacier stopped them. They had to move carefully with crampons and Pulkas in the middle of the crevasses.

D10
Camp 1 of the traverse. Even with a late start François and Sam did 20km today without any wind. Tomorow the target is to get a steep col with the both sleds. They will need to go back and forth to the col with lightest cargo.

D11
3rd day of the traverse. since 5am, a perfect 19 knots wind for snowkiting blow in the right direction. The train kiting system is set up with sam under a 10 square meters hauling 2 pulkas and François as well who's doing teleski on the back giving the baring direction with a GPS. The team will be stoped by one big crevasse where François lost one of his skis.

D12
After the kite and crevasses session nothing is done yet because they had to deal with a strong ice melting who create a large river on top of the ice cap. After 3h they find a passage on a really thin ice...

D13
Camp 3 It is hard time to find a snow patch to set up the tent. because of strong wind effect in the this region, surface is only clear blue ice. Ulvetanna peak still rise on the horizon, 100km distance to the first base camp.

D14 and D15
Camp 5. from 10pm the catabatic wind will blow constantly all night long. The team is now near by the very windy area, the time to be aware of this.

D16
Training Snow kite session at Base Camp. On the background the DC3 aircraft who has crashed on take off the 20st of December. The rebuild of the machine is schedule for 2014.


Ski Mountaineering / Team Dynastar rocks in Andorra

During the second to last stage of the World Cup in Andorra, Team Dynastar comes back with good results. Damiano LENZI wins the Verticale Race ahead of William BON MARDION. In “Espoir” category, Alessandra CANAZZELLI from Dynastar Italyends second.

The 2013 World Champion William BON MARDION was in a good shape and finishes first of the individual race on Sunday with 30 seconds in advance.

The last stage of the World Cup will take place in April near Tromso, Norway.
