The second stage of the ISMF World Cup took place last week-end on the snow of Arcalis, Andorra. Xavier Gachet claimed a great second place in the individual race and young talent Axelle Mollaret finished second and third of the individual and vertical women races.
1600 meters of slope diluted in four ascents: that was the menu of the men individual race in Andorra. And it gives a beautiful challenge between Kilian Jornet Burgada, Robert Antonioli and Dynastar athlete Xavier Gachet. William Bon Mardion was just behind the leader group. After hard fight and the crash of Antonioli, who was leading, Jornet went back the lead and kept it to the finish line. Xavier Gachet took advantage of Antonioli equipment problems and claimed the second place. Antonioli managed to grab the third rank and William Bon Mardion took the forth place.
On the women side, Laetitia Roux took the initiative ahead of her team-mate Axelle Mollaret. Roux kept the first position of this individual race and the very young Axelle Mollaret confirmed her second position. On Sunday, by strong winds, Axelle Mollaret again managed to reach the podium, tacking the third place of the vertical behind Laetita Roux and Victoria Kreuzer. After two stages of the World Cup, Axelle Mollaret already counts 4 podium places!
